David R. Harper (b. Toronto, ON) completed his BFA at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Sculpture before pursuing an MFA in Fiber and Material Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He has had numerous Solo exhibitions in Canada and the United States including Skin and Bone at the Textile Museum of Canada, Plateau at the South Bend Museum of Art and In Paradise at the Butchers Daughter in Detroit. He has exhibited work in group exhibitions at the National Gallery of Canada and MASS MoCA amongst others. Harper has been artist in residence at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (Halifax, 2009), Bemis Center for Contemporary Art (Omaha, 2014) and the Kohler Arts/ Industry program at the Kohler pottery factory in Wisconsin (Kohler, 2012, 2014). Harpers work can be found in the collections of the National Gallery of Canada, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and the Frederick R. Weisman foundation in LA amongst others.
